Turmeric & Ginger Hot Toddy

Warm up with this delicious comforting hot toddy recipe. With the added health benefits of ginger and turmeric, it’s the perfect cup of winter warming wellness.

Enjoy either warm or cold. Perfect to have a jug in the fridge for the family to enjoy throughout the day.

Turmeric & Ginger Hot Toddy

  • 1 Star anise
  • 1 stick Cinnamon ((1/4 tsp if using ground))
  • 0.5 tbsp Honey ((Or maple syrup))
  • 1 Lemon ((Juiced))
  • 0.5 thumbnail Ginger ((Fresh, peeled and grated or 1/4 tsp of ground))
  • 0.25 tsp Turmeric ((powder))
  • 1 pint Water
  1. In a heavy based saucepan, bring the water to boil.
  2. Add all the ingredients and immediately turn the heat down to a very slow simmer and allow to gently bubble away for at least 30 minutes.

  3. Drain into a jug and drink straight away or can also be enjoyed cold.

Cooks’ Tips:

  • Add a tot of Whisky if required (adults only!)
  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan version.

  1. Yum! Could a baby less than a year (11 months) have a little of this if I make for all of us? I know honey is not allowed before a year, but is it ok if cooked? Thank you!
